Marcelle Davies-Lashley
Marcelle Davies-Lashley. Even her name is a mini-song. The Brooklyn native started singing lead (no, that is not a typo) in the church choir at the age of 5 (five). And since then, MD-L has lent her vocals to a staggering number of projects spanning a wide variety of genres. Her vocals have backed up Bono, Macy Gray, and Liz Wright. She was the Queen of Sheba (no, that’s not a typo) in Robert WIlson’s opera The Temptation of St. Anthony. Long story short: Her voice has delighted people on five continents, and she will be right around the corner on January 6th at the Ivy Room.
