After the summer of 1994, the life of 15-year-old Archie Kinsler and the Chicago suburb of Forest Lake will never be the same. Desperate to gain the attention of Bernadette, a 17-year-old lifeguard and French foreign exchange student, Archie and his two best friends get their first jobs working at the local Park District. With the help of their boss, Dixon, a local lothario and suburban legend, Archie and his friends throwback, 80s and 90s inspired, bittersweet coming-of-age teen comedy in the vein of Caddyshack and 16 Candles. An absurd romp that has its heart firmly planted in the shared memories of a generation, Bernadette is a loving wink and a nostalgic nod to all the great films that were its inspiration.
