Amy Winehouse: A Family Portrait
An Intimate Look at a Celebrated Singer
Anyone who was paying attention to the music scene in the early 2000s could not ignore Amy Winehouse. She was like a firecracker that seemed to flare out of nowhere, dazzling all of us with her soulful voice and lyrics inspired by her crazily destructive lifestyle. Her untimely death was shocking, but all too common. The Contemporary Jewish Museum is showcasing a special look into Amy’s life and childhood, highlighting her strong Jewish roots and heritage. It is an uncannily close look at a life that was cut off too short. Amy Winehouse: A Family Portrait.
