Post Punk Band, Blank Square
The San Francisco-based quartet specializes in a skronky racket (ska for psychopaths, perhaps) that channels the spirit of post-punk legends like James Chance and the Contortions, the Fall and company; for all its artiness, their music packs a fuzzy wallop, making them a great fit for Castle Face, the psych-rock label founded by Thee Oh Sees bandleader John Dwyer. They’ve got something for everyone, provided you’ve got an open — and twisted — mind.
