CA History Through an Indigenous Lens: Telling Creation Stories

The history of California doesn’t start when Kim Kardashian was born. Just ask the folks at the California Historical Society. The CHS and Heyday books will explore California’s past through indigenous storytelling featuring the authors of “How A Mountain Was Made” and “California Through Native Eyes: Reclaiming History.” Both Greg Sarris and William Bauer have mad street cred. Sarris is the Chairman of the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria while Bauer is a professor of American Indian Studies at UNLV. The Word for Word Performance Company will close the evening with performance from Sarris’ book which, we can only assume, will be word for word.
