Comparative Colonialism & the Future of the Nation

A special evening featuring a rare conversation between the head of the California Historical Society, Dr. Anthea Hartig and Dr. Louise Mirrer, CEO of the New-York Historical Society. Together, the two historians will discuss how the Spanish and English colonial systems on both coasts influenced the future United States, and how these histories will shape the nation’s future. Doctors Hartig and Mirrer will also discuss the importance of leading history organizations at this critical time in the country’s own history and what today’s current political climate means for cultural heritage organizations.
