Contemporary Jewish Museum “In That Case”
You Wish You Had Stuff like This in Your Basement
David Wilson, who is in no way related to the Beach Boys (we think), is an Oakland based artist known for his meditative drawing practice and vibrant exhibitions. For “In That Case,” he plumbed the depths of The Magnes Collection of Jewish Art and Life’s deep storage for provocative objects to draw. He then discussed each object with Francesco Spagnolo, the museum curator, in detail. What they produced is a thought-provoking journey through time and history. It’s a dynamically new way of looking at objects. If only the stuff in your house was so profound.
