Irish Writers Festival: Seamus Heaney: The Berkeley Years
The Irish Writers’ Festival begins this year with a celebration of Nobel Laureate and renowned poet Seamus Heaney. Heaney, who passed away in 2013, spent time at UC Berkeley in the early 1970s, arriving from the Northern Irish conflict to be faced with a troubled UC campus stirred by anti-war protest. The event will feature writers and journalists who discuss Heaney’s life and work. Meet, greet, and mingle as they welcome to the festival 14 visiting Irish writers and artists!
