Jason Morrell (Album Release Party)

What do Death Cab for Cutie, Sleater-Kinney, and Jason Morrell have in common? They’ve all recorded tracks at the Tiny Telephone, a popular recording studio for independent musicians. Morrell’s sessions gave birth to his debut album “An Unorthodox Elegy.” Merriam-Webster (not his opening act) defines “elegy” as a “pensive or reflective poem that is usually nostalgic or melancholy.” Morrell’s choice of title was not by accident. His songs are highly personal, examining the loves and loss which have brought him to this point in his life. Born in Tennessee, Morrell now calls San Francisco home.
