Let There Be Love at A.C.T.

Jazz, Old Cantankerous Indian Men, and Lesbians, What’s Not to Love?

Written by Kwame Kwei-Armah, a famed British playwright, Let There Be Love tells the story of Alfred, an aging West Indian man living in London, his rebellious lesbian daughter, and the young Polish caregiver who helps him discover and make peace with his past. Featuring the stage and screen star Carl Lumbly as Alfred in a world class performance and framed by classic jazz standards, Let There Be Love explores the themes of loss, memory, regret, and the love that heals all wounds.

“Often comic and ultimately touching”—The Telegraph, London

Presented by San Francisco’s premiere non-profit theater company, the American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.)
