Mostly British Film Festival: Night and the City
A Different “The City”
Created eight years ago by Ruthe Stein and Jack Bair, The Mostly British Film Festival was created to show Bay Area audiences the very best in cinema from the UK, Ireland, Australia, India, New Zealand and South Africa (hence the “mostly” part), since a lot of American movie theaters only want to play Star Wars every day, at all times for months. The film “Night and the City” will be showcased on the Noir Night of the festival. This tale of hustlers and the London underworld was banned in America for a quick second because of alleged Communist politics. Watch it before Trump, or someone tries to ban it again.
