Out of Our Heads: The Rollings Stones, The Beatles, & Me
Author of Our of Our Heads, Ronnie Schneider is among a select few people who can claim to have taken an active role in the explosive beginnings of 1960s rock and roll. While working at ABKCO Records, he was responsible for handling the likes of Sam Cooke, Neil Sedaka and Bobby Vinton. But things really got interesting in 1965 when Schneider was assigned to oversee the Rolling Stones’ U.S. tour – and go on the road with the group. If you think that’s crazy, Schneider also worked at Apple Records with the Beatles and was there at the breakup of the band. After leaving ABKCO in 1969, he produced the historic Rolling Stones 1969 US Tour, the award winning Maysles Bros’ documentary, Gimme Shelter; and the 1970 Rolling Stones European Tour. Schneider will share behind-the-scenes tales of rock and roll and film making from the 1960s and answer questions – including what really happened with the Rolling Stones and Hell’s Angels at Altamont in 1969 and the breakup of the Beatles.
