New York isn’t just a place, it’s a feeling. And like many great New York bands before them, QTY captures the spirit of The Big Apple on their self-titled debut album. Compared to The Velvet Underground, The Ramones, and The Strokes, QTY is so New York you can practically smell the subway urine. Dan Lardner and Alex Niemetz—the pair behind QTY—are the first US band signed to the London based record label Dirty Hit (leave it to a Londoner to appreciate the NY sound). The duo met when they were 17, which is 42 in New York years.
