Rebel Lovers

Rebel Lovers are Renée de la Prade, (from San Francisco, CA; button accordion, ukulele, vocals, and stompbox,) and Ingo Bräuning (from east Germany; drums.) Their music is a high-energy blend of rock, blues, soul, New Orleans and Cajun music. Based in Hamburg, Germany, Rebel Lovers tour regularly in California and Europe, and are becoming known for their very danceable mix of classic American grooves from the 40’s-70’s. Their sound is most influenced by the artists Clifton Chenier, Aretha Franklin, John Lee Hooker, and Tom Waits.
