Secret Sessions: Sports & Politics

Dan Devone, five-time Emmy award-winning television sports broadcaster, will join us to look at the intersections between sports and politics. He’ll address how topical issues such as sexism, racism, and nationalism often divide our country with polarizing perspectives. He’ll look at how sports often serve as a platform for these “hot button” issues. Devone will explore perspectives on whether an athlete should enlighten others about matters not related to sports, including a trip down memory lane to historical moments at the 1936 Olympics in Germany and the 1968 Olympics in Mexico.
