SF Dance Film Fest: Danseur

This moving documentary confronts the social stigma of being a boy in ballet. It sheds light not only on the prevalence of harassment boys endure from peers outside the studio, but also on their passion and determination to keep dancing in spite of it. The film features stories from James Whiteside (American Ballet Theatre), John Lam (Boston Ballet), Harper Watters (The Houston Ballet), Derek Dunn (Boston Ballet), among others. Followed by a discussion on the topic of bullying with special guest Will McCoy: CEO of No Bully, and SFB principal dancer, Joe Walsh, and Post:Ballet artistic director and choreographer Robert Dekkers.
