SF Dance Film Festival: Pharaohs of Memphis
A Dance-umentary
The San Francisco Dance Film Festival is all about showing movies celebrating the whip tailed lizards of the middle east. Just kidding. It’s obviously a festival for, and about, the sometimes glamorous, sometimes intense, always interesting, world of dance. In the documentary Pharaohs of Memphis, you’ll explore Jookin, a dance craze that originated in Memphis in the 1980s. At this event you’ll also enjoy a post-screening performance by Oakland street dancers Turf Feinz and TeamHeat, so you can put the word with the moves.
