The State of Transportation: How To Get Where We’re Going
Make your way to this secret location by bus, ferry, light or heavy rail, bikeshare, taxi, TNC, or your own two feet – and hear from five of the Bay Area’s leading transportation leaders and thinkers about how we get around our vibrant, dynamic, and all-too-crowded region. Our all-star panel of experts is made up of:
- Tilly Chang, Executive Director of the San Francisco County Transportation Authority (SFCTA)
- Grace Crunican, General Manager of Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART)
- Steve Heminger, Executive Director of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC – the transportation planning, financing and coordinating agency for the region)
- Denis Mulligan, General Manager of the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District (you know about the bridge – but they also have buses and ferryboats)
- Ed Reiskin, Director of Transportation of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (better known as MUNI)
These five panelists will help you better understand the political, financial, technological and logistical challenges related to moving people around the Bay Area – and the opportunities to ease our collective way forward.
