Translator hit the scene way back in the 1980s. They made a name for themselves playing stripped-down punk like rock with psychedelic flavors, becoming all the rage on non-commercial campus radio and new wave stations. Their characteristic style and existentialist lyrics helped pave the way for future generations of what would be known as alternative rock.
