Will Chow & Yi-Fang Wu

The hallmark of a musical virtuoso is the ability to conjure the power of the Romantic era’s most passionate statements, while at the same time revealing the elegance, structure, and subtlety of Bach or Beethoven. Will Chow, a cellist of the Pittsburgh Symphony joins Bay Area pianist, Yi-Fang Wu on a Sunday afternoon to present a wide sampling of works for cello and piano. The duo will explore repertoire from the Russian jazz pianist Nikolai Kapustin to the iconic Beethoven A major sonata for piano and cello. Between the fields of Lutheran Germany to the plateaus of Argentina, the listener will experience a wide range of emotions, from the spiritual solace of Bach to the passion-filled Grand Tango of Piazzolla.
