Sounds Good to Me: House, Hip-House, and Australian Electronic

Your Hookup to Three Hot Bands This Week

By Adam Casalino – February 12, 2018

Spring might not be here yet, but that doesn’t mean you have to stay cooped up in the house! Heat up your nights with some delectable music. The Bay Area is chalk full of amazing venues and shows. But where to start? Fear not, mi amigos, because your buddies at RushTix have the low down on three shows you cannot miss. Behold, three electronically-fused shows that will tickle your ears and move your hips.

Datsik
Mon 2/19/18 @ Cornerstone, Berkeley
Fans of incredible House music already know the name Datsik. He gets that name for beats that make you say, “Dat’s sick!” At least I’m guessing. This master of dubstep and electronic grooves will have you moving in ways you didn’t think were possible. Datsik’s considerable skills have taken him to shows and clubs all over the world. Now it’s your turn to get a taste of his mind-blowing sound. Datsik will be performing at Cornerstone this February.

Shamir
Sat 2/24/18 @ Rickshaw Stop, San Francisco
Shamir isn’t your older sister’s electronic singer/songwriter. This Las Vegas native is reinventing a crowded genre of pretenders and white noise. Shamir’s sound combines electronic vibes with ever-charming disco, hip-hop, and unrelenting House beats. Since his first EP in 2014, Shamir has been wowing fans with his delightful style and playful attitude. This is music that is actually fun. And a Shamir show will surely bring the goods. Guess what? He’ll be celebrating the Noise Pop Festival at the Rickshaw Stop this month.

Crooked Colors
Fri 2/23/18 @ Rickshaw Stop, San Francisco
Crooked Colours are the next amazing trio to come out of Australia. I know, who would have thought that far, far away land could produce so much talent? This threesome is generating the freshest indie electronic music. They blend an English indie-rock bite with upbeat American electronic fun. Yet their music is undercut with a darker vein that will keep you coming back for more. It’s music that will make you move and feel. What could be better than that? Be sure to be at Rickshaw Stop when they arrive.

That’s a bevy of modern artists to satisfy even the most-difficult fan. With all that amazing music pulsing through the streets, who could stay at home? An amazing night of heart-pounding sounds is just waiting for you and your musically-inclined mate (or mates). So, don’t miss out on getting down this month. You can get access to these amazing shows, but only if you join up with RushTix.
