Sounds Good to Me: Pop-punk, Super Funk, and Alt-rock

Your Hookup to Three Hot Bands This Week

By Adam Casalino – January 29, 2018

Okay, you’re bored. You need to get out of the house. What better way to kick back and let your hair down, than at an amazing rock show? And the Bay Area has some of the best musical talent to feast your ears on. But where to start? Rest easy, my babies, because here are three shows you’ll def want to experience.

Diet Cig
Wed 2/14/18 @ Rickshaw Stop, San Francisco
Diet Cig ain’t your mama’s pop punk. Um, if your mama listened to pop punk. They are producing a delicious medley of indie-pop-punk-infused easy-listening rock songs. This is fun music. Remember that? Alex Luciano (guitar and vocals) and Noah Bowman (drums) have been playing music together ever since Luciano interrupted the set of Bowman’s previous band. From there, it was a match made in heaven. You won’t be able to turn away from their delightful, garage punk awesomeness. Check them out this month at Rickshaw Stop.

MarchFourth
Sat 2/10/18 @ Great American Music Hall, San Francisco
If there was any group you needed to see to believe, it’s MarchFourth. This 20-piece band defies all explanation. Their marching-band-meets funk rock instrumental outfit is here to blow away your conceptions of what’s possible. They infuse their lively, energetic music with visuals to stun the most hardened of audiences. Ever seen a band with stilt walkers, hoopers, and Vaudeville-style dancers? Didn’t think so. Get ready, buckle up, and be at the Great American Music Hall when this troupe arrives.

Adan Jodorowsky
Tues 2/13/18 @ Rickshaw Stop, San Francisco
Adan Jodorowsky is what happens if sex and music had a baby. Sounds crazy? That’s the best way to describe this musician, songwriter, and director. After touring for years with The Hellboys, he broke off and started his solo career. His work has earned him an UFI award for “Best International Artist Of The Year” and “Best Live Show.” His incredible alternative-indie-art rock is just what the doctor ordered for the case of the blands. This ain’t Justin Bieber, folks. Get ready to be blown away, when Adan appears at the Rickshaw Stop with his crew.

This is only a tip of the iceberg that your pals at RushTix have to offer. But it’s a pretty good start. Why waste another night flipping through Netflix, when you can rock out with your best buddies? Or make a few new buddies. Hey, there are buddies to spare! But you can only get in on this action, if you book through RushTix. Get to stepping, folks!
