Sounds Good to Me: Dream Pop, Rap, and Synthpop

Your Hookup to Three Hot Bands This Week

By Adam Casalino – March 19, 2018

San Francisco is alive with diverse tastes and experiences. Especially when it comes to our rollicking music scene. No matter your audible preferences, there is a show, band, or festival ready to pleasure your eardrums. But, oh, where to start? And can you even nab tickets to the best and sold-out shows? Never fear, my lovelies, because your pals at RushTix have you covered. Below is just a sampling of some of the amazing music acts performing in the coming weeks.

Tyto Alba & Esmé Patterson & Saalt
Thu 3/29/18 @ Neck of the Woods, San Francisco
Tyto Alba is the Colorado-based indie-rock/dream pop band you’ve been waiting for. They’ve left the snow-capped mountains of their homeland to bless the Bay Area with their signature spacious, lush sounds. Saalt is Oakland’s moody, stoner pop indie rockers. You’ll swoon over their gloomy vocals and catchy hooks. These impressive groups will be joined by Esmé Patterson for a night like no other. They will be at Neck of the Woods, March 29th.

FELT (mini) Festival
Sat 3/31/18 @ Bayview Opera House, San Francisco
Maybe you’re not into all that dreamy, indie pop stuff. That’s okay, fam. How about some incredible rap and new media art? #FELTFest is combining live performances with innovative works of art. They won’t stop there. There will be a virtual reality experience with projected 3D animations. This indoor and outdoor event will also have food trucks and drinks to satisfy your palette. What more can you ask for? Puppies, sure. But they’ll have everything else. The festivities will be going down at Bayview Opera House, March 31st.

Lido Pimienta
Fri 3/30/18 @ Rickshaw Stop, San Francisco
Lido Pimienta is a Colombian Canadian musician that is redefining music genres. Her 2016 album La Papessa won the 2017 Polaris Music Prize. For good reason. She loads her music with a combination of Afro-Colombian sounds and synthpop. Top it off with a heavy dose of electronic music, you have a recipe for an incredible, sonic experience. Come see what fans all over the world have been raving about. Lido Pimienta will be at Rickshaw Stop, March 30th.

There’s just not enough time to take in everything the Bay Area has to offer. But we can surely try! Why settle for whatever you can find on the Roku? Get out and be a part of a musical experience that’ll make your friends envious. Better yet, bring them along with you. But these great shows are only available when you book through RushTix. Don’t delay.
